How a shrink wrap machine to pack larger products?

Traditional shrink wrap machine can  typically package products up to 200mm in height due to the limit position of the cross sealing sealing. How a shrink wrap machine to pack larger and higher products? here we installed the cross sealing bar at the rear of the side sealing structure, thus overcoming the structural limitations at above and allowing the opening height to be increased to over 40cm. We call it – Rear-Mounted Cross Sealer. An Automatic Rear-Mounted Cross Sealer is a specialized variation of the side sealer designed specifically for high-profile and heavy items. By moving the cross-seal mechanism (the part that cuts the front and back of the film) to a rear-mounted or “traveling” position, the machine eliminates the height restrictions found in standard “clamshell” or L-bar sealers.

The Shrink Wrap Machine

  • Vertical Box Motion: The rear-mounted cross sealer uses a box-motion or gallows-style seal head. The sealing bar moves straight up and down on heavy-duty pillars.

  • Infinite Clearance: Because the seal bar is mounted at the rear of the film-feeding section, it can be built with an adjustable stroke. If your product is 500mm or 800mm tall, the bar simply retracts higher before the next cycle.

  • No “Arching” Issues: Since the bar stays perfectly horizontal as it descends, it applies even pressure across the entire width of the film, ensuring a strong seal even on heavy-gauge plastic.

1. Continuous Side Sealing

While the “Rear Cross Sealer” handles the front and back, the sides are handled by a continuous side-seal unit.

  • This means the machine doesn’t care how long your product is.

  • Whether it’s a tall filing cabinet or a 3-meter-long sofa, the side sealer runs indefinitely until the product passes.

2. Motorized Film Triangle

For tall products, the film must be opened very wide before the product enters.

  • motorized center-folder (triangle) automatically adjusts based on the product height to ensure the film isn’t stretched or torn before it even reaches the sealer.

3. “Kissing” Conveyors

Large products are often heavy. To bridge the gap between the intake conveyor and the sealing area, these machines use “kissing” conveyors that move together to support the bottom of the product, preventing tall items from tipping into the gap where the seal bar operates.

Critical Requirement: The "Extra-Tall" Shrink Tunnel

A rear-mounted sealer is only half the battle. You must pair it with a High-Aperture Shrink Tunnel.

  • Dual-Blower Systems: For tall products, you need fans at the top and bottom. If the heat only comes from the sides, the top of a tall product will have “fisheyes” (undercooked film).

  • Extended Chamber: Large products have more surface area. They need more dwell time inside the heat. A standard 1.5-meter tunnel might be too short; you likely need a 2.5-meter or 3-meter “jumbo” tunnel to ensure a crisp, tight finish without melting the film.
